Buffology: Practical Uses for Buffs
Musa Masala would like to thank Douglas Burns for this awesome post on the humble buff. Often used to save voices and throats at Everest Base Camp, buffs have been proving themselves in the mountains for years. (The recycling of moist, humidified air from your lungs helps stave off the dreaded Khumbu cough.) Doug is going to tell you about many other uses and we included a handy chart so you can play with yours to create your own unique look.

Equal Playing Field: The World's Highest Soccer Game, for Women's Equality and Empowerment
Here is one for you sports fans. Thirty-four women soccer players from twenty-four countries climb the highest mountain in Africa and play a soccer game. Then, as if that’s not enough, they travel to the lowest point on the planet along the Dead Sea in Jordan and do it again. Equal Playing Field, a new film premiering on May 18th in Los Angeles did just that to empower women and highlight the inequality in women’s sport. And to round it out, they set a couple of Guinness World records in the process.

Introducing the 2017 Nepalese Women's Kanchenjunga Expedition
Mountaineering is an adventurous game. Three Nepali women have already carved their names into its history. They have created names for themselves separately, and now once again they will join together to climb the world's third highest mountain, Kanchenjunga (8569m). They are calling their climb, "Three Women, Three on Top." With their climb they will promote women's climbing in Nepal and spread the message of climate change in the Himalayas.
