Himalayan Rescue Association Partnership
In 2024 we went into a partnership with the Himalayan Rescue Association for education and fundraising. We are so excited for this co commitment with such a esteemed organization in the wilderness medicine community.
Everest ER
Everest ER is a project of The Himalayan Rescue Association, established in 2003 by Dr. Luanne Freer. Its mission is to provide altitude experienced compassionate quality healthcare to all at the Mount Everest basecamp. The Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) was formed in 1973 with an objective to reduce casualties in the Nepal Himalayas. The HRA supports three seasonal aid posts in Manang, Pheriche and Mt Everest basecamp.
Here’s a double header video for you! Two stars of the mountain. One, Rajesh Lama, known as Lama Dai, walked from his home in Kathmandu up to the summit of Mt Everest. The other, Dr. Nishant Joshi Njo, is one of the doctors this season at Everest ER, the medical clinic at Everest Base Camp run by the Himalayan Rescue Association. On his way to the top of the world, Lama Dai strolled into the medical tent and sat down to talk about the purpose of Everest ER, the history of the HRA and you know, the weather, and whatever you talk about at 18,000 ft.
